No recipes for their products-- I especially wanted a recipe for coconut fatty acid cream base, and something for a shampoo. Now that Aubrey's has switched away from the clean ingredients they were known for, I was hoping that this book would be a guide to helping me create my own products. Unfortunately, I found it lacking significantly. It does discuss different ingredients and which are good and which aren't, but I was looking for recipes to make and use. It's really too bad that Aubrey Hampton didn't make more of his secrets known as it is virtually impossible to find clean products now.
This is a rare and excellent book to have! It's written by the late Aubrey Hampton who started a company called "Aubrey Organics." After he died, I understand that the company has changed hands but products of the new company are questionable, at best. It's now being sold again so who knows? As for the book, it goes into much greater detail than most any other book out there. Most are just recipe books. I'm glad to own it!
Easy, natural and healthy ways to care for your hair and skin. I have forgotten if nails recipes are also in the book. I highly recommend this information for anyone who wants creatively natural ways to lose the store-bought chemicals used to preserve and deliver products.
NOT ONLY does he give you recipes on how to create you're own recipes towards the end of the book, but he tells you about company secrets using petro-chemicals to cut costs, and what kinds of chemicals and herbs are good AND bad for you.He also informs us of his childhood in the beginning, which I found very pleasant to read. This guy knows his stuff, this book is under-rated!!!!!!
A Classic. THe company has moved away from the visions of its creator. If a person is into natural health , it is a mandatory read.
This book explains everything that you want to know about the ingredients in hair care products, and you will also find out that the chemicals are in a lot of other products too. Those big words on the back of the label finally mean something. And yes, I do keep a list in my purse of the chemicals I don't want in my products!
ANYTHING written by Aubrey Hampton is worth reading!!!
