The following chapters discuss what you need to understand Arduino and everything that has to go with it. These books are great for beginners. But even if you are an advanced user in programming this book can help you determine which boards to move on to next , after using Arduino for quite a while. These books are well written and easy to read. All information is laid out in logically and easy to understand. I really got a lot of information on all my questions. I liked these books and would recommend them to anyone who is in need of such type of information.
As another review stated, information is presented in a fairly haphazard manner. A lot of what's presented should wait until it can be demonstrated in a working sketch.The grammar and choice of words makes it difficult to understand. For example, capturing data is often called "captivating data". Many descriptions are impossible to decipher.I wish I could recommend this to beginners, but I as one myself cannot.
Not one image in color !! Program code is not indented to make it easier to read. Author writes code with beginning curly brace at end of line (pretty much everyone does that) instead of at beginning of next line. Indentation of code and putting curly braces on separate line improves readability, and use color ! Some useful code here but a pain to slog through it.
I must say that I was disappointed with this set. Pretty thin on the contents. Clearly meant for someone with very little technical background who truly was just getting started in electronics ( as in not yet knowing what a resistor is for - that level ) and heard about the 'duino's and wanted to play.
Full of errors and spelling mistakes.
There's some good information in these books but the method of presentation leaves a lot to be desired. There's much better getting-started guides that take you through the hardware and software more naturally. Once we reach the intermediate or advanced topics we should be able to shed the basic terminology interruptions. This series begins, bafflingly, with the Arduino language structure, covering data types and control statements, instead of focusing on the device itself. It isn't until book three that the "for loop" is addressed directly. This sort of nonsensical organization makes the books almost useless.
Got these to read on my phone while at workThey are very helpful as a reference when learning Arduino and refreshing your memory when you forget something.Would recommend it to anyone wanting to get started with Arduino and the Arduino IDE
