If this had been a Kindle Unlimited book, I would have given it at least 4 stars. But it's missing several small things.The electrified water attack ability didn't make sense to me. The dynamic between the main characters felt a bit off. The dad had every reason to believe the male lead is evil after he found the sabotage, but didn't do anything. The evil prince felt flat. The ancient hero appears to be a moron.This is a good book. But in it's current state, I'm just not sure it was worth the $3 I paid for it.
The MC Joshua started out interestingly but became extremely annoying very quickly. His host Catherine is also another badly made character. The entire plot line is full of cliches and boring plot devices. I really do not recommend this book. While I despise cultivation plot lines I really abhor terrible world/character building even more.
This was a cute and goofy book. A computer programmer dies and suddenly finds himself as the soul guardian for a young woman in a world of swords and sorcery.I did like the book, but have some gripes. The world building was a bit lacking. Does a lord really talk about going up to his "office"? What is the technology level of a world with swords and armours when electricity seems to be a known concept a young person will understand?Also, it the sometimes condescending tone of the main protagonist irritated me sometimes. Calling his soulholder "sweetheart" all the time, mentioning how sexy something she did was, kissing her cheek. At the same time as the story sets her up as being in a romance with someone else.In the end, this was light fun and I enjoyed it. But I will skip out on the rest as I think the target group are a bit younger people than me.
The story was nice and I can't wait for the next book in the series. (hint hint). I read the STORY just as that. It is not meant to be believable in this world's context. I allowed myself to be totally immersed in your book and loved every bit of it. It made it difficult to put down as I deeply connected with the characters. The only criticism I have and the reason I didn't give 5 stars is that you need an editor. Programmers are notorious for being good at content and not being good at documentation :-) . That is why we rely on tech-writers and editors. By the way I am a programmer also (45 years), so I am laughing with you and not at you. Keep up the good work.
this really should have stayed in the authors practice drafts folder. The idea is decent, but the execution is..well..nope. Tons of errors aside, it's just unpolished and stylistically terrible.
I liked the story and the take on progression. The characters aren’t perfect and fall into problems. There are numerous half-edits or edit remnants and broken sentences that are quite distracting. Without them this would be a 5 star book.
Horrible editing, but comprehensible, and otherwise an astonishing tale of exploration and loyalty between a beautiful young sorceress and a tech titan from mid 21st century earth summoned as her - brain implant?
The idea and story were good. The editing is terrible. Words missing, places where new chapters should start, but don’t. At least one word in a foreign language that was not explained.
